COMMUNITY

Giving back to our community an integral part of the W. L. Butler Construction history and culture. It is our goal to support local charities that we feel have a positive impact on the youth, disabled, elderly and those in need of proper housing within the communities where we live and work. Our commitment is about much more than simply writing a check ...it’s about getting involved by allocating our time, resources and construction expertise to charitable organizations and groups.

REBUILDING TOGETHER 2008: W. L. Butler Construction has been a proud sponsor of Rebuilding Together Peninsula for the past 18 years. St. Francis Center of Redwood City was the lucky recipient of a “GREEN” remodel this year, which included replacing non-efficient appliances, adding eco-friendly carpet tiles and recycling as many materials as possible. On April 26, volunteers and subs converted the existing “La Casita” into two office units with a food storage space in the old garage. One of these units will provide information and citizenship assistance. The second unit will be rented out for office space, and proceeds will benefit the nonprofit foundation.

The money will help their reachout program and encourage students to participate in after school programs such as this. Most of them come from rough neighborhoods and low income families.

SHARING THE SPIRIT (REDWOOD CITY): Over 75,000 children throughout the Bay Area placed holiday wishes through the Family Giving Tree Organization. Team members in the Redwood City office fulfilled roughly 75 of these requests and volunteered their time to help process the gifts on December 20. W. L. Butler Construction has been a proud supporter for the past 5 years.

SHARING THE SPIRIT (STOCKTON): The Stockton office took off their hard hats and put on their giving hats on December 19. This local school provides distinctive programs for students with severe disabilities.

Thanks to their big hearts, each child received at least two of the items they had listed on the wish list (total value exceeding $6,000).
