St. Francis Center

Project Summary

This three-story LEED Silver Certified non-profit building replaced an existing structure and houses a donation/food storage center on the ground floor, classrooms and social services on the second floor and three low income housing units on the third floor. Our team assisted in the selection of cost-efficient products that are sustainable and long lasting. A waste diversion program was established prior to demolition of the original building, as well as an on-site recycling and waste monitoring program. The site contains pavers and brick to avoid any petroleum based site paving products. Most of the onsite water is retained in the planting area and irritation is kept to a minimum. The building is comprised of sustainable wood products, recycled materials and resources locally sourced, including natural maple doors, cabinetry and millwork; bamboo hardwood natural finished floors and baseboards; wood windows; interlocking brick pavers and wood exterior finishes. The MEP systems are all high efficiency systems−gaining the highest possible SER ratings and operable windows. Situated on two lots adjacent to the existing St. Francis Center, this was a design-assist for a repeat client.
